Shaykh Dr Abdul Matin Completed his Basic training as an Alim in Dhaka, Bangladesh achieving the degree of Kamil (MA) in Islamic Theology in 1989. He was then awarded a scholarship to attend the prestigious University of Al-Azhar in Cairo, Egypt. There he completed an MA in Hadith Studies in 1992 and then went on to complete an MPhil in 1995 and a PhD in 2001.
Dr Abdul Matin was headhunted by the founder of Darul Uloom Al Islamiyah Dr Maulana ASM Abdur Rahim in 2005 and has been a loyal member of staff since that time. He is currently the Head of Alimiyah and Hifz at the Darul Uloom Islamic High School and an active member of the Senior Leadership Team. In addition to this he also functions as an Assistant Imam of the Jami Mosque and Islamic Centre, a Senior member of the Muslim Community Association UK and is a Member of the advisory board for the Q factor UK National Qirat Competition.
